A year for a three-person firm
Entry plan, three seats, yearly billing at list price. Before add-ons, credits or setup packages. Pixie and Firm360 are left out because their prices depend on client count or plan tier rather than seats.

When to switch, when to stay
Short version of each full comparison. Each one links to the detailed page.
Karbon
- Switch to Tidyflow if
- Your team is under 5 people, you want monthly billing, or you are paying for e-signature credits and add-ons on top of the seat price.
- Stay if
- Email triage is how your firm runs. Karbon's shared inbox is the best in the category and Tidyflow's team inbox is newer.
TaxDome
- Switch to Tidyflow if
- A year paid upfront is more commitment than you want, or your firm needs the core of a tax suite without the breadth.
- Stay if
- You use the full TaxDome suite, from CRM pipeline to organizers to proposals, and the upfront price is already budgeted.
Canopy
- Switch to Tidyflow if
- You are on Standard and paying add-ons for things that should be in the base price, or you never touch tax resolution.
- Stay if
- IRS transcripts, notices and resolution work are a real part of your practice. Canopy's module is the strongest.
Financial Cents
- Switch to Tidyflow if
- You bill clients from logged time and want invoicing in the same tool, or you want e-signatures without a second subscription.
- Stay if
- Workflow is all you need and the Solo price fits. Financial Cents is well made for that.
Jetpack Workflow
- Switch to Tidyflow if
- Clients now need a portal, document requests or signatures, and you are running those in email and three other tools.
- Stay if
- You are one or two people tracking recurring tasks and nothing else. Jetpack does that simply.

Questions buyers ask
- Which practice management software is cheapest for a small accounting firm?
- For a three-seat firm on yearly billing, list prices run from about $1,044 a year on Tidyflow Core and $1,440 on Jetpack Workflow to $2,124 on Karbon Team, $2,664 on Canopy Standard and $3,000 on TaxDome. Jetpack has no client portal, invoicing or e-signatures, so the cheapest tool that covers the full client-work loop is Tidyflow.
- Which tools have user minimums or require annual payment?
- Karbon needs 4 users on monthly billing, Financial Cents needs 5 seats on monthly billing, and Firm360 has a 3-user minimum. TaxDome is billed yearly and paid upfront. Tidyflow, Jetpack Workflow and Pixie have no minimum and offer monthly billing.
- Can I try these tools before buying?
- Tidyflow has a 14-day free trial with no card and no sales call. Karbon and Firm360 start with a sales demo rather than a trial, and TaxDome bills a full year upfront with no refunds, so check the terms before you commit. Each vendor publishes its own trial terms, and they change.
- How do I move my clients and jobs from another tool?
- Tidyflow imports clients from QuickBooks Online, Xero or a spreadsheet, and jobs from a spreadsheet. Most firms run both tools for a few weeks while in-flight work finishes, then cut over. Each alternatives page linked above has migration notes for that tool.
