Client & Contact Management
Follow a Client and Get Notifications
Follow a client in Tidyflow to receive Inbox notifications when that client’s contacts act: files arriving in shared folders or through the client’s upload link, and activity on client requests.
How to follow a client
- Go to the Clients section in the sidebar
- Select the client you want to follow
- Click the eye icon next to the client’s name (the tooltip says Follow)
While you are following, the icon shows Following. Click it again at any time to unfollow and stop the notifications. You can also use Follow in the client’s ⋯ menu.
What client followers are notified about
Users following a client receive an Inbox notification when:
- A contact uploads a file to that client from the client portal
- Someone sends files through the client’s upload link (see Client upload links)
- A contact completes or submits a client request
- A contact approves a document on a request, or requests changes to one
- A contact sends a late document after a request was completed
Files uploaded by your own team members do not trigger notifications.
Client request notifications also reach Job followers
Client request activity notifies followers of the Job that carries the request as well as followers of the client. Assigning someone to a Job makes them a follower automatically. Replies to an Ask client follow-up notify the team member who asked. For how request notifications are paced, see Send a client questionnaire.
What the notification looks like
The notification names the uploader, the file, and the client, for example:
Jane Miller uploaded MetaScape_Credit_Card_Statement_March_2025.pdf to MetaScape Marketing Group, Ltd.
Only users following the client receive it.
