Getting Started
Which regions does Tidyflow support?
The regions you can choose for your workspace, what your region sets up, and how to use Tidyflow anywhere else.
Tidyflow works for accounting firms worldwide. When you create a workspace, you pick a region, and Tidyflow uses it to tailor your starter setup. The dedicated regions are:
- United States
- Australia
- Canada
- United Kingdom
- South Africa
- Singapore
- New Zealand
- India
- Malaysia
- United Arab Emirates
If your firm is based anywhere else, choose Other. Tidyflow still works well outside the dedicated regions; see the last section below.
What your region sets up
Your region is used when your workspace is created to set sensible defaults:
- Currency: your default billing currency matches your region, for example USD for the United States, AUD for Australia, and CAD for Canada. You can change it any time in Settings → Billing.
- Timezone: your workspace timezone starts from your region. Change it in Settings → General.
- Starter content: the job templates library, default service types, folder templates, and the starter engagement letter template are tailored to your region where a regional version exists, with general versions otherwise. All starter content is editable, so you can adapt it to your firm’s workflows.
Region-specific client fields and lookups
Some regions add extra fields to client records so you can track local registration details:
- Australia: ABN, ACN, ABN status, entity type, and GST registration. Australian workspaces can also add and update clients directly from the Australian Business Register; see Look up Australian clients by ABN.
- Canada: Business Number (BN), GST/HST account and registration status, entity type, and remittance schedule.
- United Kingdom: company number, company status, company type, and VAT registration. UK workspaces can also add and update clients directly from Companies House; see Add UK clients from Companies House.
These fields appear automatically on client records when your workspace region matches. Other regions can capture local identifiers with custom fields; see below.
Change your workspace region
You can change your workspace region after signup:
- Go to Settings → General.
- Under Company information, choose a new Base Country.
- Click Save.
Changing the base country switches which region-specific client fields and lookups are available. It does not re-create starter content or change your billing currency, so review your templates and Settings → Billing after switching.
Using Tidyflow outside the dedicated regions
If your firm is based outside the dedicated regions, choose Other as your region. Everything works; you just start from general defaults:
- Currency: Tidyflow supports 40+ currencies. Set your default in Settings → Billing, and all invoices will use it automatically. You can also invoice individual clients in a different currency if needed.
- Tax rates: set up your own tax rates, or import them by connecting QuickBooks Online or Xero.
- Local registration numbers: use custom fields to capture region-specific identifiers on client records. Go to Settings → Custom Fields and create fields for things like VAT registration numbers, company registration numbers, or tax reference numbers.
- Job templates: the library includes general templates you can customize to your workflows.
