Time Tracking
How to track time
Log time manually or with the timer, link entries to clients and jobs, and see where billable time goes.
Tidyflow tracks time as individual entries. Each entry records who did the work, when, for how long, and optionally which client, job, and service it belongs to. Billable entries flow straight into WIP, ready to invoice.
Ways to add time
- Click the + icon in the top right corner and choose Log new time
- On the Time page, click the Log time button
- Start the Timer in the top menu and save it when you stop

What a time entry records
The time entry form has these fields:
- Client and Job: linking a job fills the client automatically, and the entry shows up on that job. An entry does not have to be linked to a job; see Does a time entry need to be linked to a job?
- Date and Hours: hours accept decimals, so 1.5 is an hour and a half
- Service: the type of work, which also sets the hourly rate used for billing
- Note: context that can later appear on invoice line descriptions
- Billable: on by default; turn it off for internal or non-chargeable work
Using the timer
The timer in the top menu records as you work. Start it when you begin, pause it when you switch to something else, and save it when you are done. Saving creates a normal time entry that you can link to a client, job, and service like any other.
Where tracked time goes
Every billable entry lands in WIP under Billing, priced by its service rate or the team member’s billable rate. From there you turn it into invoices, write it off, or adjust it; see How WIP works. Non-billable entries stay on the job and in reports but never appear in WIP.
To review or edit entries later, use the Time page; see View time entries.
